Wikis

Having looked at a few of the wikis from various libraries I have to say I was rather impressed with Princeton Public library's BookLoversWiki. I like the index to reviews section on the homepage and the fact that it gives the number of reviews for each category of book. The reviews themselves are very good with their star ratings and then links from the book title to the library's online catalogue. Great idea!

Mortchup Park

Everyone thinks I should have a photo of Morchup Park on my blog as that is the name of it, so here it is. My parents farm is near Linton in Victoria.

Library 2.0 What it means to me

Learning 2.0 is definitely a learning curve! I had no idea about all of these things before I started. As a librarian,I think that the tools available to people on the web are very important to keep abreast of and that libraries definitely need to be able to provide the public with access to these tools. Personally I prefer the traditional set up of the library, but realise that we need to keep up with technology and be educated about blogs, wikis, etc.

Generators

After playing around with the online image generator I decided to have a go at creating a Christmas card on the christmascard generator. This was a bit of fun. The URL is www.electricdecember.org

Being a bit of a chocoholic, I then chose the chocolate generator and created a chocolate bar with my own name on it. Wish I could just eat it now! URL is www.kessels.com

After sitting looking blankly at the screen for 10 minutes trying to come up with a title for my blog, the only thing that came into my mind was the name of my father's farm.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with libraries or technology but heh!
